Lunge

From a standing position, take a large step forward with one leg, let your back knee come down and touch the ground. Then push off from your front leg, take a large step forward with your back leg, and drop the other knee down to the ground. Continue for the specified distance or number of reps.

When your back knee is touching the ground, the lower part of your front leg should be vertical with your foot directly beneath the knee. If the knee is in front of the foot, then you should take a larger step. If the knee is behind the foot, you should take a smaller step.
